Na een intense campagnestrijd en zenuwslopende verkiezingsnacht gaat Mirik Milan de komende twee jaar de functie van Nachtburgemeester Amsterdam opnieuw vervullen. De Amsterdamse burgemeester Eberhard van der Laan nam het officiële gedeelte voor zijn rekening en overhandigde klokslag middernacht de ambtsketting en ring aan Mirik.
Mirik heeft al twee succesvolle jaren als nachtburgemeester achter de rug. Hij heeft er mede voor gezorgd dat er 24-uurs horecavergunningen zijn ingevoerd in de hoofdstad maar ook dat het ambt internationaal op de kaart staat. Daarnaast heeft hij zich de afgelopen twee jaar ingezet voor de professionalisering van het Nachtburgemeesterschap. Zo heeft hij een stichting opgericht met adviseurs en een uitgebreid netwerk.Tijdens zijn tweede ambtstermijn gaat hij deze professionalisering verder uitbreiden. Zijn einddoel? Op het moment dat Nederland in 2016 voorzitter is van de Europese Unie, het eerste internationale nachtcongres organiseren voor alle Europese Nachtburgemeester.

The city of Amsterdam is re-electing its Night Mayor; the link between Amsterdam nightlife and the borough. Denouement is on Thursday Sept 18th at Trouw Amsterdam. Musical guidance will be provided by NT89, Elias Mazian, Spacegirls and Cursed P.
Current Night Mayor Mirik Milan (33, middle) - who has set for re-election - competes against Kolja Verhage (28, left) and Ronald Offerman (57, right). The event at Trouw can be attended by who ever is interested and the entrance is free!

Duncan Stutterheim (ID&T) invited three Dutch House and Techno grandmasters to couple up with three Dutch talents, which resulted into these duos: Dimitri & Boy Bianchi, 2000 and One & Ici Sans Merci and Joris Voorn & Joran van Pol. Leading up to Mysteryland (last August 23rd) and their performances together at the stage, they had some serious studio time. Check out this short, but sweet Dutch mini docu about their project.
A sinful festival is about to start its journey to hell. Valtifest in Amsterdam takes place on Saturday September 6th and Barkers is honoured to be one of the festival partners. But we’re even more thrilled about our artists and their parts during this fabulous event.
At the Rauw/Wraak (Wrath) stage, Mister Disco Joost van Bellen will take the audience into purgatory. Also Horsepower – the vindictive DJ trio formed by Tommie Sunshine, Bart B More and RipTidE – will bring a killer performance.
Tom Trago invites lots of great artists to the Luiheid (Sloth) stage that he’ll be hosting. One of them is Elias Mazian, who plays back2back with fellow Trouw-resident Job Jobse. Tom is all but lazy, closing the festival with every ounce of energy he has left. Stage host, who will keep you on your toes: Steven van Lummel.
Miss Bunty, together with Lyrical Tie, hosts Hebzucht (Greed) stage Speedfreax where Full Crate will be one of many DJs.

Mightfools will take stage at Dromenland Festival (Sept 6th) and Zomerpop (Sept 7th). They also did Creamfields and their performance was registered. Look at and listen to their full set here.

At Bacchus Wine Festival at Amsterdamse Bos, Spacegirls (Sept 5th), Full Crate X Mar (Sept 6th) and Elias Mazian (Sept 7th) bring their tunes. Spacegirls (photo) will also perform at Zomerpop (Sept 6th) at Smeerboel Festival (Sept 13th), where Steven van Lummel will MC all day long.
Elias Mazian has seen all outskirts of The Netherlands during festival season. At OHM Festival in Delft, he delivered this funky piece.
Boris Werner (photo) invites Paranoid London Live at TrouwAmsterdam is one of many great things for the DJ/producer. He also did a remix for the label Love Fever Records: Son of Son - Moonchild (Boris Werner RMX). And there’s more music to come next month. Gigs worth mentioning are the ones during Circo Loco at DC10, Ibiza.
Mike Mago’s track ‘Outlines’ - a collab with Dragonette - is a Dutch radio hit! The song is this week’s choice at several radio stations. It has also been playlisted by music site 3voor12 and currently has the #8 position in Beatport’s main chart. Promising worldwide prospects for the fall!
Boehmer did a freebie and remixed ‘Walk like an Egyptian’. Go check out this Egyptian twerk version.
Cursed P is one busy man, with gigs at TrouwAmsterdam (Sept 18th), EKKO Utrecht (Sept 19th) and Studio 80 Amsterdam (Sept 25th). He recently did a Red Light Radio show with NT89, the result is delightful.
Miss Bunty, as special guest, will vocally treat the audience of CitySense-Utrecht (Oct 3rd).

Nobody Beats The Drum will pay a visit to Zwolle (Sept 6th), to play during Eenmaal Andermaal at pop venue Hedon.

Joost van Bellen is already telling bedtime stories every night by reading from his debut novel Pandaogen and Dimitri has been creating music with Boy Bianchi at Red Bull Studios. A mini-documentary of the story behind Red Bull Studios Live & Studio 80 will be released soon.
Lots of things going on around this 21st festival edition in The Netherlands and on top of that, some of our artists will perform at Mysteryland on the 23rd of August. Elias Mazian will warm up Hyte stage at 11AM. At the Red Bull Studios Live & Studio 80 stage, Dimitri performs with Boy Bianchi (2PM), followed by Tom Trago (4.30PM). At 3PM, Spacegirls will launch at Totem stage and Mightyfools go wild at Don't Let Daddy Know (1.15PM). Joost van Bellen will again read from his novel and at 9PM, will be playing his favorite jazz records at The Crooning Jazz Club together with his hubby Sander (Star Studded Studios). And last but not least; Steven van Lummel will be hosting all day long at Mysteryland and gives artists and audience that special attention.
