Dem Slackers
Despite being only 19 years old Dem Slackers has quite a few titles to his name. He found his love for producing about five years ago and decided to spend more time making music in 2008. his attitude towards music can be described as; "Slack More". Dem Slackers about this; “Well it used to be sort of my nickname, because I was really lazy and used to slack a lot in school. Now it just means that I enjoy life and have found the balance between the fun and ‘boring’ stuff.”
Since then he has signed four EPs (Wearhouse ,BMKLTSCHRCRDS, Chew The Fat! (UK) and Ministry of Sound(Aus)), made official remixes for Lil’ Wayne, Foamo and Mightyfools and a bootleg remix of Katy Perry’s Last Friday Night. He was asked to remix for Kissy Sell Out’s San City High and Bart B More’s Secure Recordings to name a few. Next to producing he also started out DJing not long after, and his live act was soon discovered and praised by many – his tracks are supported by Tiësto, Crookers, Steve Aoki, Fake Blood, Don Rimini, Sinden, Tommy Sunshine, Mightyfools and many more.
2011 seems to be his road to international break-through. Tiësto invited him to Ibiza to Club Privilege, he had his first official UK tour and his first official ‘down under’ tour in Australia. With dj sets in Portugal, Germany, Belgium and France he is taking over Europe. Also, he will be DJing at the biggest popfestival in the Netherlands; Lowlands 2011.
