TOM TRAGO

BIOGRAPHY

Tom Trago (1983) is part of the new school Amsterdam producers. Besides that he’s an accomplished dj who developed his sound into an eclectic up-tempo mix of house, disco and techno. His diverse style, broad taste in music, and technical skills, contributes to his bold and imaginative sets for which he is so renowned.
By adding  his keyboard and a vocoder to his live set, he developed a new sound which he can truly call his own. He translates his electronic beats like ‘Live with the bbq’ and ‘Big Business’ into a band performance together with his talented friends of which fellow dj San Proper on guitar is just one to mention. The formation has been rocking the crowds of TodayArts Festival in The Hague, De Melkweg in Amsterdam and Noorderslag Festival in Groningen to mention a few. This liveshow was highly praised in reviews of his Noorderslag performance in January 2008.
With his newly recruited mini-album Voyage Direct, Tom managed to create an Ableton live set which brought new life to some of the tracks that now, after being developed along the way of performing, these tracks are requested to be reproduced and remixed. His remix of ‘Dreamamerica’ from Phillipe Zdar on Cassius Records has been worldwide reviewed, and much respected by fellow producers and dj’s.
Tom will be releasing music on the Rush Hour label and is currently working on a pop/new wave project with close friend San Proper.
 
Tom is working on more friendly projects like Parra Soundsystem, with the infamous artist Parra (Rockwell, LeLe), and his other talented friends Mr. Wix & Lyrical Tie who earned their international fame by rocking residential parties at Paris Paris in Paris, and Wasserwerk in Switzerland.
Another cooperation is with the Kindred Spirits Ensemble project ‘Strings of Life’, which will play essential house and techno classics in orchestral arrangements. During the performance Tom Trago and Dorian Concept will join them for a representation of the dancefloor sound in 2009.”
 
Tom Trago is holding down residencies in Amsterdam: (Le Pop @ Canvas, Discodip @ Sugarfactory, the Velvet Morning Disco Circle @ Club Up and Italo Elite also @ Club Up. In Paris: Le Paris Paris and Switzerland @ Wasserwerk. His tight schedule includes gigs all over the world, so he’s not to be missed!
