Over the years, dj Aardvarck (Mike Kivits) has built up a solid reputation of uncompromising quality and versatility in the dance scene, both underground and above. From Hip Hop,Disco,Funk,Jazz & New Wave in the early 80s up to the present ( together with Steven de Peven = RednoseDistrikt ) he's been in the avantgarde of all major dance styles.

However in 2008 he released the Cult Copy album on Rush Hour which is more of a classic Detroit techno record. This record got strong support from many well known people in the dance community such as Ben Sims, Dave Clarke, Derrick May, Josh Wink, Ken Ishii, Rolando, Surgeon & Trevor Jackson.  In the same year Aardvarck performed live laptop & deejay sessions to promote his “Cult Copy compilation album” in clubs and festivals all around the globe.

After  releasing his Cult Copy album,  Aardvarck decided to go back to his roots.: Downtempo! His ‘Pigstyle’ E.P. found connection worldwide with the ‘BeatScene’: Hudmo,Flying Lotus,  Dimlite, DorianConcept. The’ve played several European shows together and found like minds in each other.

His regained sound can be best described as bits of Dubstep, skits, Dancehall, R&B, intro’s Beats Dub. Sounds like: Gaslamkiller meets Hudson Mohawk. His own cut up edits is what makes the difference between him and the rest of the world.

In November 2008 Aardvarck decided to start his very own label called ‘White Bloom’ (1+2) and in August 2009 you can expect ‘White Bloom’(3+4). Another thing we can look forward to is the Rednose Distrikt Mix album which will be released at the end of 2009 on the Mochilla Label (a.o. Madlib,) based in L.A.
